“YOUR PRAYERS and YOUR SUPPORT”
Reply from soldiers in Iraq when asked “What can we give you?”
WHAT ARE WE DOING:
We are raising money to provide items for military and veteran service
organizations that depend on donations.
WHY ARE WE
DOING THIS:
This is a great country to live in. But it seems we have fallen short
as a nation in caring for our military in uniform and out of uniform.
We need to improve our support of all branches of our volunteer Military
Services.
HOW ARE WE DOING THIS:
We are selling “SUPPORT OUR TROOP” items.
From proceeds of these sales we are providing needed items for military
organizations that rely on donations. We’re not asking for donations.
We asking for you to purchase these products. We are not selling expensive
items, but they are a great buys for the cost. If you buy, we’ll give.
If we can give enough to reach our first goal of supplying computers
for the Fort Leonard Wood USO Club, then we will take the message to
Capitol Hill that there is a demand to treat our military and veterans
the way a grateful nation should treat those who protect our freedom.
OUR GOAL:
First: $35,000.00 for The USO*
Second: $25,000.00 for The Fisher House Foundation**
*The USO Club at Fort Leonard Wood has 11 antiquated computers for as
many as 1,100 soldiers to use on a daily basis. In some instances these
computers are the only means of contact to family and friends.
** "The Fisher House Foundation's mission is to build homes at military
and Veteran's hospital to house families of veterans receiving medical
care. The Foundation has designated the St. Louis VA Medical Center
as a site for one of these homes. Groundbreaking is scheduled for spring
2008, and the local Capital Campaign goal is $2.5 million."
